Summer Wine Flight (three 3 oz. pours) – French Terroirs

 Marionnet Touraine Sauvignon  -  This is a clear, pure and medium bodied wine with finer acidity and a little crisper style.  Great for drinking now..  The winemakers aim was to produce a wine that is best drunk within three year from the vintage.  Vinified in stainless steel - the 2007 displays a  grape-typical nose of gooseberry-leafs as well as some other citrus and more acidic fruits.  $6.9 glass

 Font-Mars Picpoul Made exclusively from Picpoul Blanc grapes, this wine exhibits crisp, fresh fruit that's a perfect accompaniment to grilled fish, roast chicken, or cheese.  It’s crisp and minerally with hints of citrus and flowers.  It's going to be hard to find a better summer-weight white wine for the price.  $8.5 glass

 La Bastide Blanche Bandol rose This wine has the pure, well-delineated fruit that has become a hallmark of Bastide-Blanche.  The 2007 blend of Mouvedre, Grenache, & Cinsault has nice citrus and spices on the nose, a soft mouth-feel, and a caramel spice finish.  $7.9 glass

 Vissoux Beaujolais Cuvee Tradicionelle- This wine has been able to be natural and great at once; a feat not often recreated.  It’s as natural a Beaujolais as one could have had in a café in Lyon in the 40's. Aged in Oak, no filtration, and no sulfites.  Striking robe with intense blue-purple. The nose is pure, but discreet; the palate expresses itself fully, with both vivacity and a beautiful persistence of ripe fruit  $7.5 glass

 Grand bois cdr trios Souers- This blend of Grenache, syrah, and carignan from Cotes Du Rhone is also bottled unfiltered in the old world style.  The wine is deeply colored, ripe, and robust with a very wide array of flavors that change on the palate (anise and plum just to name a few).  A delicious CDR!!  $7.5 glass

 L'oustal  Blanc K7 – Hand harvested from 100 year old vines.  The nose gives meaty, garrigue notes that lift the rich, dark berry fruit. While this is an amazingly complex wine for the money, it is also a lot of fun to drink; right now with grilled meats or later this year when fall rolls around.  $8.5 glass
